Senior Robotics Engineer

JOB_DESCRIPTION_

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Robotics Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of robotics systems and software engineering, with extensive experience in the design and development of advanced robotics software solutions. This role will involve leading projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving innovation in the field of autonomous vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of cutting-edge software systems for autonomous vehicles.
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, including robotics, software, and systems engineers, to integrate software systems into autonomous vehicles.
  • Develop and optimize algorithms for low-level sensor data processing, sensor fusion, and advanced control systems.
  • Implement visualization tools and other support systems for system monitoring, debugging, and analysis.
  • Conduct rigorous testing and validation of software systems, identifying and resolving any issues or bugs to ensure reliability and performance.
  • Stay current with the latest advancements in robotics, autonomous systems, and related technologies, and apply these to enhance our products and solutions.
  • Document software design specifications, create user manuals, and ensure all documentation is clear and comprehensive.
  • Actively participate in technical discussions, brainstorming sessions, and project planning meetings to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, sharing knowledge and expertise to foster a culture of learning and development within the team.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. An advanced degree is highly preferred.
  • 2-5 years of professional experience in robotics and software engineering
  • Proven experience in robotics principles and software engineering.
  • Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in robotics, such as C++ and Python.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to design and implement complex software algorithms.
  • Deep familiarity with Robot Operating System 2 (ROS 2) and other relevant robotics frameworks.
  • Self-motivated with a passion for robotics and a strong desire to innovate within the autonomous vehicle industry.

Desirable Skills:

  • Extensive experience in low-level sensor data processing and optimization.
  • Expertise in sensor fusion techniques and algorithms.
  • Proficiency in developing visualization tools and other tooling for robotics applications.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with advanced control algorithms, such as Model Predictive Control (MPC).
  • Familiarity with simulation tools and environments for robotics, such as Gazebo or V-REP.
  • Experience with real-time systems and performance optimization.
